Explore and discover the exotic side of Bangkok by bike when the sun sets!
This tour brings you to cycle through Rattanakosin Island, also known as the heart of Bangkok at dusk which lets you ride in cool breezes. We will ride to visit many historical attractions in Bangkok to see them in a whole new light as the sun sets. At our meeting point, we will gear up and then ride through alleyways towards Wat Saket, which is also known as the Golden Mount. The temple has a golden chedi that sits at the top of the artificial hill and climbing up the 318 steps to the top will let you have a view of where we will be riding. There is also a Sri Maha Bodhi tree in the temple. After visiting Wat Saket, we ride to the Ban Bat Community where alm bowls for the monks were once made.
Next, we will go to Wat Suthat, otherwise known as Temple of the Giant Swing. It is one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok and gained its fame for its huge golden Buddha and magnificent frescoes. The Giant Swing in the entrance is used for a ceremony which has been discontinued now because it was deemed too dangerous. We will continue to cycle through hidden alleyways and reach a replica of an old drawbridge. Upon crossing the canal, we ride to the famous Pak Khlong flower market where you will see a variety of flowers such as roses and orchids in a spectrum of colours. Besides that, you will also be able to see many flowers arranged creatively by the stall owners.
After that, we hop on to our bikes and ride to the almost forgotten Nakraphirom Park to watch the sunset over Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. The temple tower is absolutely stunning with thousands of pieces of multi-coloured Chinese porcelain covering it. The view of the sun setting in the background of Wat Arun is simply amazing and memorable. After this, we will ride past the Grand Palace and see the golden roofs illuminated. We will then reach a small riverside path with a perfect view on the Pinklao Bridge after a short ride later.
Then, we will stop by at the park that surrounds the octagonal Phra Sumeru Fortress for a short break. Next, we continue to ride until we reach Wat Indraviharn that boasts a 30-metre high statue of Buddha lit up at night. After a short tour, we will be on our way back. We will ride past the Marble Temple on our way to Government House, then ride past Wat Ratchanadda and Loha Prasat which is a multi-tiered structure with 37 metal spires.
