Go on an exciting journey to discover Bangkok’s hidden treasure!
As Thailand’s busiest city, Bangkok is definitely the heart of this warm and friendly country. Along with many important landmarks and beautiful attractions, Bangkok is no doubt the jewel of Thailand. However, these are not the only thing that makes Bangkok great but there are still many hidden gems in this city that is waiting to be discovered. This tour will bring you to explore non-mainstream trails to find these treasures and learn more about Bangkok.
The tour starts at the meeting point near Giant Swing in front of Wat Suthat. We will collect our bicycles there and prepare for our cycling journey. We will begin with riding through back alleyways by the red Giant Swing and a road line up with Buddhas of all shapes and sizes for sale. We will then cycle by Wat Ratchabophit, the official city temple during the reign of King Rama V. The temple features a mixture of traditional Thai architecture and Western-style interior, which is probably the only one in Thailand. We continue to cycle past the Flower Market before we arrive at the Chao Phraya River and board on a ferry to cross the river towards Thonburi. Thonburi is the capital city of Siam in a brief stint. Upon reaching, we start our cycling journey again and pedal through one of the first settlements in Bangkok as we cycle past beautiful temples, unique markets and old stores. We will be able to explore many of Thonburi’s precious and beautiful temples as we make our way to Khlong Bang Luang. Khlong Bang Luang is a 200-year-old wooden house which is now home to a community of artists. The house has a gallery, cafe and also daily puppet shows. After a tour in the artist house, we will explore the canal by longtail boat to see more gems along the banks of this stunning canal network. At the end of the longtail boat trip, we hop back on to our bikes and cycle through Khao San Road which is the famous backpacker haven to reach our end point.
This tour will be a fun 17 kilometres ride through Bangkok’s hidden or less known neighbourhoods that involves navigating past narrow alleys, tight corners, and bridges over canals. If you are not experienced or unstable on a bike this might not be the tour for you. However, if you choose to join this tour, be ready to look at a unique part of the city where most other tourists won’t be able to see.
