Floating markets are one of Thailand’s most famous traits. Its uniqueness in having the market near the river and on the boat is well known all around the world. In this tour, you get to see the famous floating markets in Bangkok and also a less visited countryside of it. The countryside of Bangkok has coconut plantations, small villages with friendly locals, and small farms managed by locals on a small scale. This tour is absolutely perfect for those who want to escape from the busy Bangkok.
We will pick you up from your accommodation in the Bangkok centre area before we start our journey. We will visit a few non-cycling sites before hitting the bikes. The famous coconut sugar village is one of the sites that you will visit. The process of coconut made into sugar can be seen here. The place also shows all kinds of uses of the coconut including wares. We will also visit the local floating market, Tha Kha with a canal boat ride. The vendors in the market sell all sorts of fruits, local Thai food, and creative souvenirs.
Next, we will start our cycling journey and ride through coconut farms and fruit plantations along the way. It will be a very easy and relaxing ride. Then, we will visit a propitious temple covered with all four types of the Banyan tree. It is truly a sight to behold. We will then go on to visit an ancient army camp before stopping at the famous Amphawa Floating Market. It is the second largest floating market in Thailand behind the Damnoen Saduak. However, it is more authentic and its visitors are exclusively Thai. The Amphawa floating market boasts a wide variety of foods and products sold. The experience here is more authentic Thai as it is almost visitor free. You will also find shops selling all sorts of craft products. We will have our lunch at a first-rate Thai restaurant on the Mae Khlong River. The view accompanying the lunch is absolutely stunning.
Most of the cycling will be on flat roads and is fairly easy. Breaks will be taken regularly at scheduled stops. If you were to feel like resting your legs, worry not because our support vehicle will follow us all the way. Whenever you feel like it, do hop into the van and continue the tour in the air-conditioned vehicle.
