The Wat Phon Phao is located atop a hill amid beautiful trees overlooking the ancient city of Luang Prabang. The Wat Phon Phao has a spectacular golden stupa is one of the few places to have nuns that roam the grounds. Your journey continues to the isolated village of Ban Phanom, that is a stone’s throw away from the Wat Phon Phao temple. The stunning textiles even caught the eye of the King of Laos, at one point in history and the King purchased an abundance of textiles from the villagers.

Venture further into the trails that will take you to the grave site of Henri Mahout, who was a French explorer in the 19th century and passed away in Luang Prabang.
