Tour Description:

Day 1 - Mountain Trek / Nam Xeuang River / Hmong Village

You will meet your guide early in the morning to prepare for departure. We will help you store your luggage as you will only take what you need to travel light. We will drive north along the Mekong and then the Nam Xeuang Rivers about an hour and a half. Upon reaching the river, we will cross it by using a local boat. Then we head to the trailhead and trek directly into the jungle on trails that locals use daily as their only paths between these remote villages.

The trekking will take about 4-5 hours of medium grade walking through rice paddies and jungle. We will stay overnight at a small Hmong village with welcoming villagers. The village is very basic and is in comfortable conditions to explore the area and meet the locals. Your dinner will be prepared by your guide and the local family.

Day 2 - Valley Trek / Large Khmu & Hmong Village

On the next day, you will wake up to the sounds and activities of daily Hmong hill tribe life as most of the villagers start their day early. You will have a hearty breakfast prepared by your guide before going on a 4-hour long trek along valley streams to an amazing remote mixed of Hmong and Khmu village situated in a valley surrounded by large mountain ranges. You will get to see amazing landscapes of the forests in Laos during the hike through the lush green jungle.

Arriving around mid-afternoon, you will see that this village will be bigger than the previous village you had stayed in consisting of people from two ethnicities. You will have plenty of time to explore these expansive villages with schools, diverse activities, and children playing. Do not worry as your guide will be with you as you explore the large villages. You can learn a few basic languages from the locals or learn about their cuisine too. It is definitely a rare chance to experience life in a remote village. Enjoy your evening and relax to prepare for tomorrow’s mountain peak hike.

Day 3 - Hiking / Jungle Trekking

After waking up and having your breakfast, you will prepare to go on the longest hike of these three days. The hike will take around 6-7 hours to the top of the mountain. Once you reached the top, you will be greatly rewarded with spectacular panoramic views looking over the villages where you just stayed and down to the Nam Xeuang River where our trekking ends. A sight to behold, the paths that we will be hiking through are those that locals often take to tend their steep mountain-top rice fields. You will also pass through another Hmong mountain village along the way. Continue your journey down the trail you will reach a river where you can choose to go for a well deserved and refreshing swim in the river before we go on our 1.5 hours long return trip to Luang Prabang.

Cancellation Policy:

15 - 30 days prior to the tour date, 30% of total package payment incurred.

7 - 14 days prior to the tour date, 50% of total package payment incurred.

1 - 6 days prior to the tour date, 100% of total package payment incurred.

• The tour is generally unsuitable for people with reduced mobility and other disabilities. Please contact us to discuss if this trip is suitable for your specific
• Food on this tour is very basic as you are quite remote. This is a great opportunity to sample and really experience the lifestyle including the food of mountain villages
• Preparation:
• Bring shoes that can get wet and sandals for in the villages. There are stream crossings on the trails
• Bring clothes for three days, camera with charged batteries. Note, these are remote villages and there is no electricity for charging camera batteries for the duration of the tour
• Please adhere to strict pick-up time punctuality. Tour operators may forfeit tours for travellers if no-show during the stipulated time
• Registered name of the traveller must be corresponding with photograph documentation (Example: Passport). Tour operators reserve the right to reject if registered traveller fails to provide photographed documentation of their own
