Tour Description:

Day 1 - Trekking / Eco-Bungalow Homestay

Commence your journey by meeting with your friendly guide and setting out on a ride through the rural parts of northern Laos. Arrive at the starting point of your trek at Ban Phonexay and begin your exciting trek along the trails, in the midst of stunning nature. Stumble upon beautiful sights of the countryside, from tall verdant trees to streams that flow nonchalantly on the way. Stroll under bamboo forests that are along the trail and also trudge along the steep hills, which is the perfect spot to admire landscapes of Laos. Along the way, you will take a break that will be served in a picnic-lunch style for you to replenish your energy before continuing your adventure.

You will head to the Khmu and Hmong village called Nong Khuay, where you will reside for the night at the eco-friendly bungalows. If time allows, you will trek along to the dark Tom Douk cave, where you will be able to explore within its dark interior. Be led by your guide as you enter the depths of the cave and discover the stunning stalagmites and stalactites that jut out of the walls. Head back to the serene village and settle into the eco-friendly bungalow. Explore the serene village that is packed with friendly villagers, where you will be able to learn about the lifestyle and culture. Learn the process of cooking traditional meals from the villagers or pick up a couple of words of their language. After an exhausting day, you will enjoy a delectable dinner before heading to hitting the hay.

Day 2 - Eco-Bungalow Stay

Awake to the delicious breakfast with your hosts before setting out for your adventure for the day. Take the trails again that will take you to the famous lake called Buffalo Lake. Bask in the stunning beauty of the Buffalo Lake before venturing through the beaten trail that will take you to the serene Hmong village of Long Lao Mai. Take a break along the way to indulge in a delicious lunch to replenish your energy during the trek. Upon arrival to Long Lao Mai, you will be led by your guide to the eco-friendly bungalow that you will be residing in for the night. Explore the serene village and interact with your friendly villagers along the way. Stumble upon stalls where the villagers are selling beautifully-crafted bracelets and other handicrafts for you to splurge to heart’s desires, which also supports their livelihood. You will indulge in a delicious dinner that is served under the unobstructed night sky. After dinner, you will relax at the home stay and sleep for the rest of the night.

Day 3 - Village Life

Take the opportunity to experience the simple village life by spending some time with the friendly villagers, after you consume a delicious breakfast. Engage in the daily tasks of the villagers by helping them either indoors or outdoors. Learn the art of cooking Lao cuisine from the local villagers or take to the fields and help the villagers in their farming activities. Take the time to gain some insight on the process of weaving from the local skilled artisans, who are experts in the craft that they learned with the knowledge that has been passed down. After engaging with the villagers, you will bid farewell to your newfound friends and depart from the village, back to the ancient city of Luang Prabang.

15 - 30 days prior to the tour date, 30% of total package payment incurred.

7 - 14 days prior to the tour date, 50% of total package payment incurred.

1 - 6 days prior to the tour date, 100% of total package payment incurred.

Additional Information:

• Minimum four(4) pax for the tour to be confirmed
• Pick up and drop off service can be arranged for hotels in the city centre, with additional cost. Please check with Adventoro Concierge (Call / Whatsapp +6010 468 8011)
• The total time taken of your trek for day one and two is approximately 4 hours
• The Buffalo Lake can only be visited during the rainy season, from July - December
• It is advised to bring along trekking shoes, light clothes, warm jacket (October - March), rain poncho (May - October), personal articles, medicine, insect repellant, sunscreen, camera, a shade-providing hat, flashlight and extra spending money
• The Nong Khuay Eco-Bungalow has two private rooms to accommodate two people and each room has one double-size bed, western-style bathroom and indoor bathroom with hot water
• The Long Lao Mai Eco-Bungalow has two private rooms and each room has a king size bed, loft with 2 single mattresses, western-style bathroom and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot water
• Please adhere to strict pick-up time punctuality. Tour operators may forfeit tours for travellers if no-show during the stipulated time
• Registered name of the traveller must be corresponding with photograph documentation (Example: Passport). Tour operators reserve the right to reject if registered traveller fails to provide photographed documentation of their own
