Tour Description:

Your journey begins at the early hours of the morning with a drive on a trailhead at the outskirts of Nong Khiaw, which is often described as a haven for travellers. The Nong Khiaw is safely nestled in the midst of verdant jungles and rising limestone karsts that seem to touch the sky. The rural little town is situated along the banks of the Nam Ou river that is crucial in Laos as it is used as a means to transport goods. Venture further into the depths of the Nam Ou river by boarding a boat to travel along the river. Bask in the serene environment of the Nam Ou river through stunning valleys and with the sight of striking limestone mountains.

Visit the isolated village along the banks of the Nam Ou river that is well-known for producing beautiful fabrics. Gain some insight on the practice of weaving intricately-designed fabrics, with weaving knowledge that has been handed down from their ancestors. Take the trails around the quaint village and catch the sights of the village children at the local school that is made completely out of clay, mud and adobe. The Clay School was first established in 2011 and now is a place of learning for the local children that reside in the village. Observe the lifestyles of the villagers as they roam the trails around the villages to carry out their tasks.

Furthermore, a delicious lunch will be provided and you will taste the savoury Laos flavours which will arouse your taste buds. Then, you will traverse along the trail, where you will leave behind the serene village and into the mountain pass. Be within stunning sights of nature that is completely untouched by men as you traverse through the old-growth bamboo forests and lush green jungles. Catch the sight of the limestone karsts that stand proudly at a distance from the trail you will walk upon. You will head back to the riverside village and stroll pass unconventional and unusual farms that are dotted around the trail. Hop on the iconic three-wheeler tuk-tuk that will take you back to the Nong Khiaw after a tiring yet exciting adventure!

1 - 6 days prior to the tour date, 100% of total package payment incurred.

Additional Information:

• Minimum two(2) pax for the tour to be confirmed
• The trek can be ranked as medium difficulty and would require at least 4 hours to complete under good weather conditions
• It is advised to bring along weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, camera and poncho
• It is highly recommended to wear good hiking shoes for the trek as the trail can get technical along the way
