Make your way around the fertile ground of Bali’s biggest Salak plantation and learn more about the agricultural practices of local farmers in cultivating the soil for farming.
The vicinity of a hill is a place of lush meadows and dense jungle. But when it comes to the hill of Bali’s Sibetan Village, there are more than meets the eye. The village is home to Bali’s biggest Salak plantation, a local fruit known for its juicy and crunchy texture that you definitely have to try. Get to know more about the local agricultural technique as well as you go about unpacking the hidden wonders and secrets of the verdant Balinese plantation and the delicacy of the local treats in all its wondrous flavour.
Immediately after your pickup from your hotel, you will make your way to the starting point. There, your jeep will be waiting and all ready for you to get you to the top of the hill. After a short briefing on the itinerary and plan of the day, you will begin your exploration. First up is the Salak plantation. This locally grown fruit is unique to the tropical region of Southeast Asia and is definitely a treat that you do not want to miss. Visiting the plantation, you will also notice the different agricultural practice of local farmers as compared to cultivating fields in the temperate climate. Feel free to talk to them to learn more about the basics of agriculture in Indonesia as well. Or, you can also choose to relax and eat some delicious Salak whilst waiting for your fellow travellers to finish their plantation trek while enjoying the softly blowing wind. Then, make your way to the local brewery for some insight on the daily traditional wine process activities.
As the clock approaches noon, you will go for a coffee/tea break at a local house followed by some traditional snack. Once you are done, you will continue your way up the hilltop for a panoramic view of Mount Agung and the eastern coast of Bali in the far horizon. Of course, that is not all. You will then continue your way to the second viewpoint where you will be able to gaze upon the crystalline eastern Bali shore and the refreshing waves breaking upon the shore. Once it is 1:30 pm, you will go for your lunch before returning to your hotel at 2:30 pm on your return transfer where you will be able to catch some rest before heading for your dinner on your own
