Tour Description:

The one thing you may notice all over Sarawak would be the abundance of greenery that covers a large area of the land. To kick off a nature-infused tour, head down to Bako National Park; famed for being the oldest National Park in Sarawak. This is a golden opportunity to discover and explore Sarawakian rainforests and wildlife. Located at the northern tip of Muara Tebas Peninsula, strap in for an exciting journey, starting with a half-hour ride by coach followed by a 30-minute boat ride. 

Stretching an area of 16 sq km of primary forest, the park is thriving with an abundance of botanical treasures consisting of 25 types of vegetation. With so many unique plants that are indigenous to the land, you will be thrilled to uncover nature’s many mysteries, hidden all around the park. Try to spot the carnivorous pitcher plant, fascinatingly used in traditional medicine. Due to the Malaysian climate, the rainforests are ideal grounds for numerous species of flora to grow. 

Aside from the fauna, you may also get the opportunity to have close encounters with the Proboscis Monkey—indigenous to Borneo. Trek through the mangrove forest and look out for other jungle dwellers such as the Long-tailed macaques, Silver-leaf monkeys, monitor lizards and Bearded pigs. You will be spoilt for choice at the number of trails available to explore at the Park, including several sandy bays that are perfect for swimming activities. After a long hike, appease your hunger with lunch at the park canteen before returning to Kuching.

• Tour departure between Nov – Feb is dependent on the weather. The substitute tour is to the Gunung Gading National Park.
• Child prices apply for children of ages 2 to 12. A minimum of two (2) adult tickets are required to be eligible for child ticket prices
• Please adhere to strict pick-up time punctuality. Tour operators may forfeit tours for travellers if no-show during stipulated time.
• Registered name of the traveller must be corresponding with photograph documentation (Example: Passport). Tour operators reserve the right to reject if registered traveller fails to provide photographed documentation of their own
