Taman Negara which translates to National Park is one of the parks that is protected and left untouched by developments. It is also home to one of the first tribes in Malaysia called the Orang Asli who are the oldest inhabitants of Peninsular Malaysia. You will find yourself lost for words by the vastness of the Malayan jungle. Thrill and adventure seekers wait no longer, hop on the bandwagon to visit this national treasure today.
Your enthusiastic and experienced guides will await your arrival at Han’s rainforest resort where you will be warmly welcomed. At the resort, the tour comes with the camping equipment that you would have to carry for the camping expedition. You will be given a brief outline of the entire camping trip along with some safety precaution before heading out. You will be ushered onto a sampan (the local term for a boat made of wood that is motorized) that will take you down the Tembeling River to a location near the Kepayang Cave.
With the help of the local guides, you will need to do some light hiking to the entrance of the cave. Along the way, remember to keep your eyes out for the various tropical animals that populate the forest. There is a lavish collection of tropical nature that is present for you to enjoy. Some animals worthwhile to catch in action are the Malayan Peacock-Pheasant, Hornbill and Water Buffalo.
Within the Kepayang Cave, you will be camping out at a location that is not exposed to the elements but there is also ventilation. Further, into the cave, you will find at least 6 different species of bats using the cave as their habitat. After a sumptuous meal, head into your cosy sleeping bag with the sound of cicada in the background. Wake up the next morning with by the call of nature and the sunlight beaming through the thick canopy of the rainforest. As you pack up and walk out, remember to take a last glance at the magical lavish tropics of Malaysia.
