Tour Description:

Day 1 – Yogya / Prambanan / City Tour / Malioboro

Arrive at Yogyakarta Airport and be welcomed by our tour guide before heading to your first stop of the day: Prambanan Temple. This 9th-century Hindu temple consisted of 240 temples and held amazing illustrations of the Indonesian version of the Ramayan epic. Then you’ll head to the city to visit the Sultan’s Palace which is essentially a walled city, home to 2,500 people with markets, shops and even schools. You’ll get to tour the Taman Sari water castle which was the site of a former royal garden before heading to the Malioboro mall for some great shopping. At the end of the day, you’ll be brought to the hotel to check in.

Day 2 – Lava / Borobudur

After breakfast travel to Cangkringan which was once a village located on the slope of Mt. Merapi. This village was destroyed by the last huge eruption of Merapi Volcano, leaving only remains. At the village, you’ll also get to visit the Merapi volcano Museum where you can view demonstrations of previous volcanic eruptions dating back to the 18th century. Your next stop is to Borobudur temple, a 9th-century Buddhist temple with over 2,000 intricate relief panels. Then visit the Mendut and Pawon temple which are also amazing Buddhist temples with amazing landscapes before heading back to the city. You’ll make a short stop en route to try the sweet Salak Pondoh (or snake fruit) before going back to the hotel.

Day 3 – Depart Yogya

Have your final meal in Yogyakarta at the hotel before bidding Indonesia farewell as you head to the airport to board your flight.
