Travel around Flores to see amazing sights such as the Komodo Dragon at Komodo Island, marvel at the cotton candy coloured sands at the Pink Beach and trek through the jungles at Rinca Island.
Day 1 – Denpasar/ Labuan Bajo/ Bidari or Sature Island
Arrive at Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo and be welcomed to Flores by a representative then be brought to your hotel. Once you check in to your hotel, you’ll take a break for lunch before boarding a boat to Bidari Island. After a nice 30-minute boat ride you’ll arrive at the beautiful sandy beaches of Bidari Island. You’ll get to snorkel in the crystalline waters of the island and gaze at the vibrant marine life. If you don’t feel like snorkelling, you can also just lie back and relax against the smooth sand under the warm sun. Then you’ll be brought back to your hotel to be left to your own devices and get a good night’s rest to prepare for a busy next few days.
Day 2 – Labuan Bajo/ Rinca Island/ Komodo Island
Fill your stomach with a delicious breakfast to get energy for a busy day of sightseeing. Your first destination is Rinca Island which is a 2 and a half hours’ boat ride from Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival, you’ll be lead on a trek through the dry forests where you can look out for some of the diverse wildlife residing in the island. Some of the animals you can look out for are deers, wild pigs and even tropical birds like cockatoos. Then its back to the boat and your off to Kalong Island to experience watching colonies of flying foxes emerging from the mangroves for their hunt at sunset. The backdrop of the sun setting behind the flying foxes offers you a breathtaking sight that is a must see. Then when night falls you’ll be served dinner on the boat where you’ll also be spending the night in an air-conditioned cabin.
Day 3 – Komodo/ Pink Beach/ Manta Point/ Labuan Bajo
Your first activity of the day is a trek through Komodo Islands where you can see the infamous Komodo dragons. Look out for these creatures as your guide leads you through the jungle. The Komodo dragons are the largest species of lizards but do be careful when near them as they are still predatory beasts with a venomous bite. Then your next stop is Pink Beach where you’ll get to see the amazing cotton candy sand beaches. You’ll get to swim and snorkel in the clear waters and gaze at the exotic marine life.
Your next destination is Manta Point where you’ll get a chance to see the amazing manta rays. Get up close and personal with the gentle manta rays when you snorkel in the waters or you can opt to just catch a glimpse of them from the boat itself. Then you’ll get to enjoy a nice lunch on the boat and in the late afternoon you’ll sail back to Labuan Bajo. Then you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you’ll enjoy a scrumptious dinner and retire for the night at your hotel.
Day 4 – Labuan Bajo/ Denpasar
Wake up in the morning for a nice breakfast before going on a short sightseeing tour in the city. You’ll visit Batu Cermin (Mirror Stone) Cave where you’ll get a beautiful sight of the sun’s rays reflective off the cave’s smooth rock surfaces. With breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites this limestone cave is definitely a must see. You’ll also get to browse through the stalls at the local market where you can get yourself a small souvenir before leaving Indonesia and heading to the airport at Denpasar.
