Tour Description:

Day 1 – Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Kayaking / Longhouse Homestay

To kick-start our 2 days and 1-night adventure in Sarawak, we will first head towards the Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Known as one of the world’s largest tree-dwelling primates, these elusive primates are considered an endangered species and are protected by international law. During feeding hours, take a short trek into the jungle where you will get a chance to observe these playful primates in their element.

Next, we will have a delightful paddle down the serene Sungai Sarawak Kiri, beginning from Kampung Bengoh, drifting gently 11km down towards Kampung Semadang. Along the way, we will make timely stops where you will get to soak up Mother Nature’s beautiful work of unique limestone formations and lush riverine trees. Discover and swim at a secret waterfall before reaching Kampung Danu for a hearty and delicious lunch. Your guide will take you on a fascinating herb trail before hopping back on your kayaks!

After the kayaking session, we will be heading to our longhouse homestay where you will be greeted with an amazing shot of ‘Tuak’ – a traditionally produced rice wine. For those brave souls, you will get to experience a shot of throat-burning ‘Langkow’, which is the local’s version of ‘rice whiskey’. For dinner, our gracious Bidayuh hosts will also be providing us with simple local delicacies such as jungle ferns, rice and meats cooked in bamboo, accompanied by refreshing seasonal fruits. Mingle and enjoy the night with the locals before turning in for the night!

Day 2 – Hot Springs or Waterfall Hike

Rise and shine early in the morning for the continuation of our ultimate Borneo adventure! You’ll get to experience more of the Bidayuh culture and the villager’s simple way of life. By mid-morning, you can have a choice between taking a stroll towards the local hot springs and swim around in the refreshing river waters; or you can take a challenging 2-hour hike towards a local scenic waterfall for a true jungle experience!

After the activities and a delicious lunch, we will be heading back towards the town of Kuching!
