Tour Description:

You will be met at your lobby hotel by a coach that will transfer you to Shahbandar River Taxi Jetty where you will embark on a cruise to the scenic Pulau Duyung (Mermaid Island) fishing village. Aside from its laid-back ambience, the shores are also dotted with colourful, brightly painted fishing boats; an expression of art by itself. Then, we will proceed to visit a boat-building workshop—located at the river mouth—to see how the traditional Malay fishing boats are made; often a long process that requires deft hands and an eye for details.

Off in a distance at the foreland of Duyung Island, you will be welcomed by the sight of Chinatown’s wooden stilt houses, a wonderful sight against the backdrop of the waters. At 10.30 am, we will take an up-river cruise along the swampy river of Jeram River, As you journey along the river, you might be greeted by a host of animals such as monkeys, monitor lizards, birds, mud crabs, eagles and sometimes, otters. Glimpse the age-old lifestyle of the Terengganu people as we stop by a local village by the river. Lastly, we will make a trip to the Terengganu State Museum, possibly the largest in Southeast Asia; the museum comprises of both an indoor and outdoor museum.
