Tour Description:

At an altitude of 400 - 600 metres above sea level, Sibetan Village’s 1,125,000-hectare Salak plantation puts the region as Bali’s main producer of the Salak Bali and Salak Sugar Sandwich. Popular with both locals and tourists alike, Sibetan Village is also a place of cultural and historical significance in the history of Bali. It used to be the capital during the reign of I Gusti Ngurah Mantu and as you stroll around the village, you will see various monuments being erected in memory of the wise king. If you are curious about how the Bali countryside looks like and what the region used to represent in terms of Bali’s culture and history, you should definitely give Sibetan Village a try. 

Day 1 - Arrival to Sibetan Village

Upon arriving at Sibetan Village, you will check yourself into your guest house and unload your luggage. Meet your local host and get to know more about the local family who you will be spending the night with. Your guest house will consist of up to 2 - 4 rooms where you may chance upon other fellow travellers as well. Once you check yourself in, you will proceed to explore the surrounding natural environment of Sibetan Village. Your first stop will be the Salak plantation in the village. The vast region of Sibetan Village is Bali’s most prominent and number one producer of the local Salak Bali and Salak Sugar Sandwich do you will not want to miss out on the opportunity to see the plant for yourself. Even better, you will also have the opportunity to pluck and try them out for yourself - on the house, of course. Once you are done enjoying the crunchiness and juiciness of the fruit, you will proceed to check out the nearby rice field and learn more about the local wine refinery process. Afterwards, you will head back to your local home to unwind and get to know more about the village residents. As you see the sun setting in the far horizon, you will also be served with dinner alongside the local family and fellow travellers.

When you feel like sleeping, make your way to your guest house and retire for the next day. Having your own room will allow you to enjoy the calm evening as the evening breeze lulls you to sleep.

Day 2 - Departure

First, you will do some preliminary check on your bicycle and be briefed on the safety notices and tips along the way. Afterwards, you will start your cycling journey around the rugged and bumpy terrain of the hillside. Your cycling location is the hills of Sibetan Village, home to Bali’s biggest Salak plantation. Like what the region is known for, your first destination is to make your way to the biggest Salak plantation. There, you will be able to walk your way around the lush garden of Salak and pluck some for your own consumption. Taste the pleasant juiciness and the crunchiness of each bite that differentiates the fruit from your ordinary Salak. You will find that the texture is reminiscent of an orange but the crunchiness begs you to differ. Then, you will cycle around the Sibetan Village to meet and greet the villagers as you watch them go about their daily livelihood with a smile.

Then, your route will take you to the rice field and the white water river of the surrounding region. Here, you will get to enjoy the refreshing wind and pick up on the subtle scent of golden harvest as you unwind and appreciate the beauty of valley lives. Take a short break with some coconut water on the farmer hut to quench that midday thirst before continuing and persevering to your finish line.

After the tour, head back to your rooms to have a good rest before checking out at 12:00pm.

• 50% cancelation fee will be applied for any cancelation seven (7) days before the trip and 100% cancelation fee applies within 24 hours to the tour commencement date
