Ride along the rough rural terrain and cycle pass the fresh wind as you behold the beauty of Sapa countryside.
You will start your bicycle journey at Sapa with an easy pedal and relaxing cycle across the Sapa countryside. Then, turn your wheels to the dirt trails just outside of the town and start cycling downhill on a slightly tougher road. The dirt trails then lead you through one of Sapa’s the most wondrous valleys - Muong Hoa. Muong Hoa is a vast oval-shaped valley with a selection of picturesque scenery and village settlements which are home to the different ethnic groups of Sapa. Afterwards, you will arrive at Lao Chai where Black Hmong and Red Dao have resided for decades. Upon a closer look around, you will realise that you are actually standing in the centre of Sapa’s natural wonders: tall mountains overlooking the quaint village, verdant rice fields litting up the whole village during harvest season and beautifully dressed ethnic residents tending to their fields - they all paint a picture of heaven on earth in Sapa.
Continue on by making your way to a village not too far away from Lao Chai called Ta Van. Aside from the Black Hmong and Red Dao, it is also the residence of the Giay - a minority tribe in Sapa. Just like its neighbouring villages, Ta Van prides itself in its breathtaking terraced rice fields and dense greenery. The main income of the different tribes primarily come from agriculture, crafting farming tools and polishing silver jewellery. Next, make your way to a local stilted house made of wood and bamboo. The quiet central chamber of the house serves as an altar and a guest reception area. If you think that is all, you are in for a surprise because you will be further introduced to the fascinating traditions and customs of the ethnic groups living in the house. Once you are satisfied, you will cycle your way to the Topas Ecolodge situated deep in the valleys atop two conical hills. Here, you will get to rest your tired feet and enjoy a 360-degree view of the surrounding before finally making your way back to Sapa with a bus ride home.
