We will start our tour upon reaching the pier with a longtail boat ride along the canals. The boat will take you through the canals viewing many of the structures along the river banks. The environment becomes much peaceful as you travel along the canals away from the main paths of Chao Phraya River. After a period of travelling on the longtail boat, we will visit the Royal Barge Museum to witness the radiant royal barges used by the King. These boats are reserved for auspicious ceremonies and state occasions like the very rare Royal Barge Procession which have only happened 16 times in the last 65 years. The barges are very intricately designed and exhibits the excellent craftsmanship of Thais. There are 8 royal barges in the museum. You can also learn about the history, functions and the techniques to operate the royal barges in the museum.
Next, we will visit the magnificent temple of Dawn, Wat Arun. Wat Arun stands tall at the riverside of Chao Phraya and is easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok because of its design. It is made up of colourfully decorated spires which stand out the most particularly when lit up at night. A combination of impressive architecture and fine craftsmanship, it is not surprising that Wat Arun is regarded by many as the one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand.
