Tour Description:

This journey will take you around the Sapa rustic rural area where you will be able to learn more about the lives of local Red Dao tribe up close and personal. The villages of Thanh Kim and Lech are among the few last communities left untouched by the rapid industrialisation of the modern world. Incidentally, despite the popularity and huge boom of tourism in the village area, the community has managed to preserve their lifestyle and tradition and remains true to their historical root. As you bring yourself to further explore the bare hills, rice terraces and village surroundings, you will come to appreciate the sheer beauty of the environment in its most natural state.

Begin your trip by transferring from Sapa to a trekking point close to Thanh Kim Village. Then, hike along the footpaths of the Silver Stone Mount as you enjoy the stunning all-round view of the valley and paddy fields. By noon, you will have stepped foot into Lech Village, a rustic little settlement inhabited by the Red Dao minority tribe. It is very normal to be surprised as the village leaves much to the imagination. You will see groups of people donned in colourful dresses walking by with red bandana, a trademark attire for the Red Dao women. As your stomach rumbles for lunch, you will have your lunch at a local house before continuing your journey to yet a neighbouring village. 

If you are fortunate enough to have visited the village on a weekday, you will be able to step into the school and meet the children studying hard in the community school. From the school, you will follow the winding hill track up the main road whilst you enjoy a breathtaking view of the dotted peak, vast rice fields and the picturesque Muong Bo River. After finishing your photo session around the area, you will finally board your car back to Sapa to conclude your tour.

• It is advisable to wear shorts, long pants, tights and t-shirts; strap sandals or shoes. No white clothing.
• Do take note that the locals peddling their items for sale is common in these areas
• Approximately 5 hours of walking and 1.5 hours of driving involved
• Not recommended during rainy weather
