Delve deeper into Thailand by visiting the Ratchaburi province to the village of Damnoen Saduak that is situated about 110 kilometers away from Bangkok. Capture the sights of klongs (‘canals) that sit along the orchard farms and gardens that are found in the peaceful countryside of Bangkok. The Damnoen Saduak village is well-known for its floating market that is open daily till the afternoon along the klongs, that is ranked as the longest and straightest canal in Thailand as the canal is more than 30 kilometers long.

Watch the entire market come to life as the morning starts with the locals bringing in their goods through the river to the market to be sold or exchanged. The market has been open and around for more than 100 years so you will have a chance to delve into the old-age tradition of Thailand. The locals are seen displaying their goods at their stalls and preparing dishes to sell. There are various types of fruits sold in the market such as the jackfruit, rambutan, the famous foul-smelling durians and many others. A variety of smells will be detected wafting through the open air as you traverse your way through the hectic marketplace from spices, fruits and many others.

You will have an opportunity to explore the river by going on the boat the explore the market and the narrow canals just like how the locals do. Visit the local snake farms and marvel at the slithering snakes with their complex scales or take a chance to ride an elephant where you get to gaze at the unspoilt nature that surrounds you. Explore the trinkets and knick knacks found at the Royal Thai Handicraft Workshop. Your final stop would be a visit to the local jewelry shop where you will get to splurge to your heart’s desire and also behold the beautifully-crafted Thai-style jewelry.
