During the dry season, nothing beats a trip to the ocean where you will be able to take a dip in lukewarm waters and enjoy the briny tang of the sea. Thankfully, Malaysia has a treasure trove of islands and beaches to choose from, with one of them being Pulau Payar. Gear up for a trip to the only Marine Park along the Western Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, which can be accessed by high-speed ferry services offered on Langkawi Island. The ferry ride is bound to be thrilling as you traverse across the cerulean waters, taking only 1.5 hours in total to reach the island.
You will be pleased to know that the marine park not only consists of Pulau Payar alone but three other smaller islands as well. The crystal-clear waters that surround the islands are home to a wide variety of colourful fishes and other marine life that has created a diverse underwater ecosystem. One of the star attractions of the island would be the coral reefs, which are being preserved and protected by the government.
Renowned for snorkelling and scuba diving, you will have the opportunity to explore a whole new world beneath the ocean. Be awestruck by the beauty of the reefs and its inhabitants as you snorkel in the vast ocean. Scuba diving packages and courses are also offered on the island, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the underwater world. Alternatively, you can always sit back and relax on pristine white beaches and get a good tan. After building up an appetite with a fun-filled morning, feast on a scrumptious buffet lunch which will be served on a floating platform. After lunch, make your way down to the underwater observatory for a close-up look at life beneath the waves; so close yet so foreign to us.
