Tour Description:

Day 1 - Sepilok Orangutan Rehab Centre / Proboscis Lodge Bukit Melapi / Menanggul River Cruise

Your journey begins with a meet-and-greet session at the hotel or the airport. Shortly after, make your way to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehab Centre where you will be introduced to the critically endangered orangutan living in the centre. Then, embark on a short river cruise to Sukau,

Then, depart from Sukau via Lapit Jetty where you will be taken away to the Proboscis Lodge Bukit Melapi. Welcome drinks will be served to quench your thirst upon arrival and take the opportunity freshen up with the lodge’s basic amenities and facilities after checking into your rooms before lunch is served.

In the late afternoon, make your way to the Menanggul river cruise at 4:00 pm where you can view the sights and sounds of Borneo flora and fauna such as the endangered Proboscis Monkey. Be sure to stay tuned to their loud, bellowing noises as they attempt to attract their potential mating partner!

Return to the Proboscis Lodge Bukit Melapi by sundown to get ready for dinner. After replenishing your body with dinner, feel free to either go a night river cruise to spot the nocturnal animals or enjoy our in-house activities (e.g: palm weaving and traditional dance performances). Once you’ve decided to call it a night, rest up and snooze away at the lodge.

Day 2 - Oxbow Cruise / Rasang River

The day begins at 6:30 am with a morning Ox bow cruise. Take the opportunity to catch a glimpse of native Borneo wildlife with the sun rising in the background. Then, return to the lodge to whet your appetite with some breakfast. Afterwards, spend a few hours at your own leisure where you can have the chance to rest up from that early wake-up call. Don’t forget to have lunch before the second river cruise along the Rasang River for more wildlife watching at 4:00 pm!

Return to the lodge as the sun goes down, as dinner will be served. Depending on your preferred mode of method, you can opt for a night trekking or a cruise after dinner for more animal sighting (such as Proboscis monkeys and owls), which can be booked at lodge’s reception.

After a full day’s worth of being immersed in nature, it’s time for bed.

Day 3 - Gomantong Caves / Sandakan Town

Your final day awaits you! Begin your morning at 6:30am for breakfast. Bid adieu to the sounds of nature at the lodge as you check out and depart Sukau for Gomantong Caves, home of the biggest bird nest cave in Sabah. The trip concludes as you return to Sandakan town, with the option of being dropped off at either the city hotel or the airport.

• Child prices apply for children of ages 2 to 11. A minimum of two (2) adult tickets are required to be eligible for child ticket prices
• Please adhere to strict pick-up time punctuality. Tour operators may forfeit tours for travellers if no-show during stipulated time
• Registered name of the traveller must be corresponding with photograph documentation (Example: Passport). Tour operators reserve the right to reject if registered traveller fails to provide photographed documentation of their own
• Note: Starting from 1st September 2017, a tourism tax of RM10 per room per night will be imposed on non-Malaysian tourists for all types of hotels and accommodations. This is payable to the hotel upon check-out
