Your guide will take you around and tell you about Penang’s history, its people and its food.

Prepare your taste buds for a ride as you go from stall to stall, sampling a variety of food with colourfully diverse flavours thanks to the multicultural nature of Malaysia. Your Penangite tour guide will show you hidden gems of traditional hawker stalls that sell authentic Penang Char Kuey Teow and Prawn Mee. Char Kuey Teow is a delicious noodle dish made from rice noodle strips which are stir-fried in a sauce with eggs, prawns and bean sprouts. Depending on the cook, some meat such as chicken strips or beef or pork sausages may be thrown into the mix to make it even more filling.

Try the famous Tau Sar Piah that locals and tourists willingly line up for, a testimony to how yummy the pastry is. The flaky pastry is so easy to bite into and is usually filled with grounded mung beans flavoured savoury or sweet. The sweet ones may be more palatable to most, while those who love the taste of meat may enjoy the savoury ones more.
