Tour Description:

Visit the Penang Butterfly Farm and gaze at the over 4000 live butterflies from 120 species. Explore the large expanse of land at Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm, first established in 19886 as a tourist attraction and a place to educate people on these beautiful, fluttering insects. The sanctuary consists of outdoor butterfly apiaries and an indoor exhibition area. Besides being a tourist attraction, Entopia also serves as a research centre for entomology to learn more about the life cycles of butterflies.

Learn more about the 120 species of butterflies you can see floating around the enclosed farm made to look like the butterflies’ natural habitat. The farm also has a hatchery where you can see the progress of the farm’s cocooned butterflies and if you're lucky you might see one emerge from its chrysalis. The farm also houses a number of other tropical insects and small mammals such as scorpions, frogs, snakes and spiders.

After enjoying a lovely time getting to explore as butterflies flutter around you, you’ll get to visit the tropical spice gardens. Explore the lush, 8-acres of award-winning gardens and become one with nature. Enjoy strolling through the secondary jungle with about 500 species of flora and fauna. The gardens have 3 different trails for you to spend leisurely wandering around and pass by stream crossings, beautiful waterfalls and structures made of recycled organic materials. If you’re feeling peckish or just looking for a place to sit and enjoy the cooling breeze, there is an outdoor café with a good view of the Straits of Malacca. End your day with a trip to the gift shop to take home memorabilia or premium spice therapy spa products.
