Explore the beauty of Nha Trang in the wee hour of the day as you visit its iconic structures and make a stop at the various commercial destinations of the bustling coastal city.
Morning in Nha Trang is not a sight everybody gets to see every day. Despite being a popular tourist destination, morning in Nha Trang starts in a slow and gentle pace. Locals going out and setting their stalls all the way around the street, children going out and heading off to school are all parts of the early morning lives of Nha Trang. Interestingly, the city of Nha Trang was originally called Kauthara under the rule of the Kingdom of Champa. Even the current name, Nha Tram, is believed to have been derived from the local dialect of Cham People, translating literally to “Reed River”. This is, of course, a dialectic pronunciation to the original name of the river “Ya Trang”. When it was made into a territory of Vietnam in 1698, the name Nha Trang was given to the area. Even today, the population of the city is still growing rapidly – and with tourism projected to rise in the area, you can expect a more lively Nha Trang in the days to come.
You will start the day by visiting the beautiful white sand beach dotted with coconut trees on the eastern end of Tran Phu Street. Then, you will stop by one of Nha Trang’s most iconic sights, the Tram Huong Tower, to explore the landmark further. Next, it will be time for a little morning market shopping at the biggest and most popular market in Nha Trang, namely the Dam Market. This market is home to a dazzling array of consumer goods, local handicrafts and souvenirs all locally made and sourced from seashells, dried cuttlefish and other marine creatures. Then, you will move on to the biggest construction in Nha Trang, Long Son Pagoda, which was founded in the 19th century and stands as an epitome of classic Buddhist architecture. The 14-meter-high Buddha statue that sits atop this site is visible from afar as you enter the city. The pagoda also gives you a beautiful view of the city on elevated ground.
Your last stop will be a trip to XQ Hand Embroidery Factory where you can watch how you can weave intricate, handwoven fabrics. The factory is also the perfect place to purchase souvenirs for yourself and your friends, especially if you wish to get one which reflects the culture of Vietnam.
