Journey through the Gede Pangrango as you trek to the summit of Mount Gede and Pangrango!
Day 1 – Bandung / Cibodas / Kandang Badak
Arrive at Bandung and be picked up by your tour guide at 4:30 am. You’ll be driven three and a half hours away to the village of Cibodas. Upon arrival at Cibodas you’ll begin to prepare your items for the porters as the plan is to start trekking at 9 am.
Day 2 – Kandang Badak / Pangrango Peak / Mt. Gede Peak / Surya Kencana
Start your day bright and early at 3 am with a light breakfast, and hot coffee or tea before embarking on your trek. You’ll be trekking through Gede Pangrango which is one of the oldest national parks in Indonesia and is host to two popular volcanoes: Mount Pangrango and of course Mount Gede. This 15, 196 ha park has amazing flora and fauna which you’ll be surrounded by as you go on your walk. Besides amazing jungles, the park also features popular natural destinations such as Blue Lake, Cipanas hot spring and Surya Kencana.
Arrive at Pangrango Peak after walking for two and a half hours and just take in the amazing view of the wide expanses in the forest. Take in the sights or even take as many snapshots of the landscapes before we head back to your camp Kandang Badak where you’ll have a proper breakfast. You’ll get to rest for a while before its time for lunch. After lunch, continue your journey on the steep track to Geger Summit where you’ll get to chill for a while and get those Instagram-worthy shots of the peak. You’re so close to reaching your destination, with only a thirty-minute walk left till you reach the famous Gede Summit! Savour the view of the mountain peak as you let the feeling of accomplishment set in while you stand on the summit. After some photos, its time to head to your next campsite at Surya Kencana which is a huge meadow with a small river flowing in the middle and that’s covered in Edelweiss.
Day 3 – Surya Kencana / Gunung Putri / Bandung
Get up early as you try to catch the sunrise at Gede summit for some amazing photos and sights. If you don’t feel like waking up early for the sunrise you can opt to stay at the camp at Surya Kencana to just enjoy the peaceful breeze of the mountains. You’ll head back down from the mountain at 10 am, taking the Gunung Putri Route which should take around three hours by foot. Upon arriving at the Gunung Putri village, you’ll be brought back to Bandung to end the trip.
