This small city located on the outskirt of northwest Vietnam region is a prime destination for cultural immersion. You will get to indulge yourself into the lifestyle of your local host family and learn more about the H’Mong tribe, especially on the history and lifestyle of the people. The icing on the cake? You will have all the time of your life to breathe in and enjoy the fresh air of the Vietnamese countryside. So pack your bags and let’s get going!
Day 1 - Hanoi / Mai Chau / Moc Chau
From your hotel, you will leave the city of Hanoi and pass through the mountainous landscape of the countryside. Breathe in the fresh clean air and refreshing scent of nature on your way to Mai Chau Valley. By the time you are there, noon will fast arrive. Lunch will be served at a local Thai house where you will partake in the local delicacy of Thai cuisine. Then, you will proceed with a small walk around Mai Chau Valley for a glimpse of the villagers’ daily routines - rice planting, buffalo herding and brocade weaving among many others. Then you will continue your adventure by leaving for Hua Tat Village, the entrance of Moc Chau Plateau. Check yourself into your local homestay and enjoy a home-cooked dinner during your overnight stay in the stilt house with your H’Mong host.
Day 2 - Moc Chau / Hanoi
Breakfast will consist of all the local harvest and produce grown locally and made fresh for you. Along the way, you will pass by corn fields, tea plantation and local villages on both sides of the road. Occasionally, you may chance upon local villagers who are going about their daily lives as well. Wave your hand and say hello to the passers-by for some extra local experience. You will then alight from your ride and go for a light trek to a beautiful valley inhabited by H’Mong people. A scenic spot with hospitable locals, you will find yourself attracted to this prime destination. There will also be time for you to chill and discover more about the secret of Oolong tea. Afterwards, you will return to your homestay for lunch and collect your luggage. Once you finish packing, you will leave for Hanoi at 2:00 pm with fond memories of your time exploring Mai Chau and the surrounding beautiful villages.
