Embark on a wildlife jungle trek as you discover the many endemic flora and fauna species of Cat Tien National Park and visit the historical temple of Phu Nam Kingdom.
Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh City / Cat Tien National Park
We start our adventure at 8:00 A.M. in the morning as soon as we pick you up from your hotel. First, you are off to Cat Tien National Park. Located in the southern region of Vietnam, the park is approximately 150 km away from Ho Chi Minh city. This beautiful national park is known as the botanical reserve of endangered and native Vietnamese flora and fauna. The park is part of the wet tropical forest complex and is one of the few untouched primary forests that still remain in Vietnam. This very fact makes the park significant both locally and internationally. In fact, in 2001, Cat Tien National Park was listed by UNESCO as the 411th biosphere reserve zone in the world. While it is certainly not your everyday famous tourist trail, it is the perfect spot for you nature lovers to explore more of the diversity in Vietnam. Feel free to spend more days here on your own as you enjoy the calm and serene surrounding of the park at your own leisurely time.
Once you arrive, you will stop at the jungle lodge and enjoy your lunch there. Next, you will continue to your homestay and meet your local homestay host. Here, feel free to take a relaxing walk and explore the peaceful surroundings of the area, pay your respect to a local temple or learn more about the local lifestyle and culture of the area. As another bit of trivia, the temple of Phu Nam Kingdom was also discovered by archaeologists in this very park. With brick walls, the temple platform, door-frame and pillars are decorated with beautiful granite and intricate pattern. It is here that you will also get to see the many other pictures and symbolic representation such as dancing girls, soldiers, elephants, cows and lotus carved at the very same temple. Please also dress respectfully by covering your shoulders and knees while visiting the temple. Later on, you will again take part in a canoe trip along Dong Nai River to watch some birds returning back to their nests during the sunset. So get your camera ready and capture the birds’ homecoming journey amidst the golden backdrop. Then, it’s back to your local homestay for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 2 - Cat Tien / Ho Chi Minh
Start your exploration in the early 7:30 A.M. morning as you partake in the early breakfast session. Our guide will take you through easy to hard forest trails that connect many interesting spots under the tropical canopy. During this 4 hours’ trek, you will get the chance to see many species of flora and learn about a world of giant trees that are hundreds of years old. You will also see many species of precious wood and medical trees. Other than that, you will also see primates crowding the area (including the ever-so-famous gibbons), a wide range of birds and butterflies. The park is truly a perfect place for nature lovers so get your camera out and snap some sweet pictures! After wandering around the forest, you will finally go back to your homestay at 11:30 A.M. Then, it is time to say goodbye to your host. Stop by and have lunch at the jungle lodge before going back to Ho Chi Minh as the tour concludes.
