Get a healthy dose of adrenaline as you take on sea kayaking from Manukan island to Sapi island where you’ll zipline from one island to another and top your day off with a filling BBQ lunch!
At 8:30 am, you will be taken from your hotel to Jesselton Point Jetty where you will hop on a boat ride that will whisk you away to Manukan island. At Manukan island, meet up with your guide and get into your kayaking gear. Carry out an equipment to check that everything is good to go, and after a safety briefing conducted by a trustworthy professional guide, you can climb into your kayak meant for two with a partner and prepare to paddle out into the sea.
The journey from Manukan island to Sapi island should take around an hour of rhythmic synced paddling with your partner. Paddle through the sea across rolling waves as the sun warms you until you reach Sapi. At Sapi island, you can cool down with a guided snorkelling activity in its beautiful waters. Even at its jetty, you can already see the swarms of fish clouding the water in certain areas. If you’re snorkelling for corals, you should snorkel to the south of the island as that is where the best collection of corals is located.
The fish you may come face to face with the most in Sapi’s waters may be the clownfish, especially if you’re exploring the corals. Their vibrant orange bodies are hard to miss despite them being amongst the diversely colourful coral. Nearby, you might spot a giant clam or two, a sight one doesn’t get to see often. Even if you can’t swim, you will not be excluded from the opportunity to enjoy these sights as a life vest is provided to help keep you afloat as you snorkel.
At Sapi island, you will also find the Coral Flyer, a zipline which connects Sapi island to Gaya island. At 250 metres, it is the longest island-to-island zipline in the world. Ziplining along its length is sure to be an experience to remember. Try it out and be impressed by a view you would never have wanted to miss out on. The clear sky above your head, the blue sea beneath you, the wind blowing against you and the adrenaline coursing through your system will all be sure to make this moment a memorable one!
After the adrenaline rush from ziplining from one island to another, you can settle down with a delicious BBQ lunch at Sapi island. Dig in and chow down to stock up on your energy reserves as you will have to paddle all the way back to Manukan island after this. Once you’re back at Manukan island, you will be brought back to the mainland in a boat. Upon arriving back on land, say goodbye to the sea and your driver will bring you back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
