Tour Description:

Travel to Melo Village and experience the Manggaral culture first hand. Located just 17km from Labuan Bajo, a fishing village, Melo is a popular destination amongst tourist. You’ll get to observe Manggaral arts and culture performances such as the “Tetek Alu” dance which is a traditional bamboo pole jumping game. Witness with your very own eyes the traditional Caci performance that has been arranged by the villagers themselves. This dance is a major part of the Manggarian cultural identity and important part of ceremonial life. This dance is a treat for both international visitors as well as domestic visitors of Manggarai.

Cool down and take a break from the Indonesian heat by chilling in the Panorama Hut which is the headquarters of the cultural cooperative of Cecer community. Lounge in this bamboo building where you can have a cup of Flores coffee or a taste of sopi which is the traditional Florinese palm liquor. Learn more about this palm liquor with a quick introduction to how sopi is made from the sap of palm trees from the villagers. To truly get an idea of Manggarian daily life with a short trek around the village and see where they cultivate vanilla, coffee, candlenut and cacao. Your trip will come to an end when you drive back to Labuan Bajo for a delicious dinner.

Additional Information:

• Child rate is only applicable for 3 to 5 years old. 6 years old and above will be charged with adult rate
• Spanish, French, German & Japanese speaking tour guides are available on request
• It’s recommended to bring a trekking shoes (sports shoes), camera and cash money for personal expenses
• Minimum of 2 pax for tour to be confirmed
