Wondering where to go for a short getaway from the bustling Hanoi? The nearby Mai Chau is definitely the perfect choice for you! Situated just around 150 kilometres away from Hanoi, this rural mountainous region offers the serene countryside vibe with its picturesque scenery and charming local culture. Let’s embark on an epic adventure around Mai Chau and enjoy a relaxing countryside hideaway on this package!

Day 1 – Hanoi / Mai Chau / Buoc Village

We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and begin our journey on the limousine bus. In around 2 hours, we will reach Luong Son to have a short break while enjoying the rural scenery. After that, we will continue driving along the scenic Thung Khe Pass where you could view the lush mountains and green valleys before stopping at the local Muong Ethnic Minority market where you can get your hands on various local specialties. Once we arrive at Mai Chau Valley, we will have our lunch and explore the area. As Mai Chau is inhabited by 7 ethnic minority groups including the Thai ethnic group, you can expect to encounter and discover various local traditions here. We will cycle through the rice fields and visit the Thai ethnic minority villages to witness their daily activities. Get ready to be amazed by the unique architecture of the local traditional stilt house which is built off the ground! When we visit the handicraft village, make sure you pay attention to the local craftsmanship and learn about the traditional weaving method. You can also purchase their local products as souvenirs to support the local business. Once we are done touring the villages, we will board our bus and head towards Buoc Village. We will check in to the La Maison de Buoc lodge and spend the night at this peaceful village. After dinner, you are free to wander around the village before retreating to your room in the stilt house.

Day 2 – Rural Villages around Buoc Village / Hanoi

Let’s begin the day by having a scrumptious breakfast at the lodge before setting off to explore Buoc Village and its surroundings! Unlike the previous day of visiting the main tourist sights, we will take the road less travelled and embark on an epic adventure today. We will experience a 7.5-kilometre-trek with the assistance of our local guide around the Buoc Village. As we walk through the rice terraces and hanging bridge, we will visit several beautiful ethnic villages where we may be the only tourist group in the area. Besides observing the locals going about their daily lives, we will interact with them and visit a local family’s house to know more about the bucolic lifestyle and traditions. While immersing in the local culture, don’t forget to take in the verdant countryside landscapes and revel in the Vietnamese rural tranquility! After we complete our trekking route, we will head back to check out from the lodge and enjoy our lunch there. Before going back to Hanoi, we will have a free and easy afternoon at Buoc Village. If you have not explored the village, this is the perfect opportunity for a quick stroll around this small Thai ethnic group village. For those who are tired from the trekking, you can simply unwind in the village or take a quick dip in the swimming pool here. We will board the bus at 3 pm and return to Hanoi. Our tour ends as we drop you off at your hotel.
