Immerse yourself in the adventure as we take you to Ipoh’s majestic cave temples and stunning landscape gardens nestled amongst limestone hill while learning about the city’s interesting history and culture.
Day 1 - Ipoh City Tour
The journey begins with a friendly meet and greet with our representative. We will then be on our way with the Ipoh City Tour, exploring the wonderful attractions and learning about how the once quaint town evolved into a vibrant city.
Ipoh, the capital state of Perak, thrived greatly, giving a great boost to the development of the city during the 19th-century tin mining boom. This beautiful state is rich in colonial influence and is known greatly for its historical buildings such as the Birch Memorial Clocktower and the Muzium Darul Ridzuan, which is a must-visit as it is one of Perak’s best museums. One of the city’s most iconic structures would be the Ipoh Railway Station, one of three grand railway stations built by the British.
All built in an elegant neoclassic style, the Town Hall and the Ipoh law courts are located just across from the Ipoh Railway station. Arriving at the Kong Heng Square, you will be surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the many boutique hotels, hawker stalls, antique shops, art galleries and cafes.
After a quick check in at your hotel, we will then head for dinner which will be served at a local restaurant. Once your hunger has been appeased, you will be returned to your hotel to rest for the night.
Day 2 - Kek Lok Tong / Sam Poh Tong / Qing Xin Ling Leisure Cultural Village and Pomelo Farm
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel to kick start your day before we take off for a visit to some of Ipoh’s famous cave temples. The first stop, Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple, or when translated means the Cave of Ultimate Bliss or Happiness, is a famed tourist attraction and offers picturesque sights and natural beauty. This attraction was used as a place of worship since the early 1920s. However, in the 1960s, the cave was involved as part of an iron mining site and was then excavated. Following that, mining ceased in the 1970s and the cave was once again dedicated to religious purposes and opened to the public.
Some unique stalactite formations adorn the ceilings of the caves. Exploring the caves, you will come across many Buddhist and Taoist figures. One of the highlights of Kek Lok Tong is the award-winning landscape garden that is truly breathtakingly stunning. The Buddha statue overlooks a beautiful view of the gardens which are surrounded by several small lakes. There are also gazebos, a reflexology path and even a large electricity pylon.
After enjoying your experience at Kek Lok Tong, we will head to another popular attraction, Sam Poh Tong. This attractive temple within the natural limestone hill showcases intricate works of art and also has an award-winning landscape garden featuring a Japanese pond with Japanese carps and tortoises as symbols of longevity. At the front of the temple, you will not miss the charmingly decorated pavilion. As you move into the area, you will find a 246-step climb which rewards you with a spectacular view of Ipoh.
We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant to aid your growling stomachs before we adjourn to the next part of your adventure, a visit to the Qin Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village. ‘Qin Xin Ling’ in English is ‘Serene Hill’ and this attraction is truly tranquil in its beauty and lush nature. This wonderful site encompassing the lakeside offers many outdoor activities such as barbeque, jungle trekking, bicycle riding and more. Enjoy and take in the stunning scenery and relaxing fresh air while experiencing the rich culture of the locals. There is also a Pomelo farm where you can stop for some refreshments.
To appease our hunger, dinner will be served in a local restaurant before you head back to your hotel to turn in for the day.
Day 3 - Gunung Lang Recreational Park / Heritage Walk
Start the day off with a delicious breakfast before boarding a boat to Gunung Lang Recreational Park. Developed surrounding majestic limestone hills, Gunung Lang and Gunung Bilike in the background, this attraction consists of a lake and a park which is divided into two sections. Prepare to drop your jaw when your eyes catch sight of the stunning man-made waterfall cascading down from atop the limestone hill, as well as the broad walk across the lookout towers and swamp. Enjoy a stroll through the parks and take in the relaxing vibes of nature’s beauty.
Following that, we will proceed on the Ipoh Heritage Walk where you will get to immerse yourself in the history and culture of Ipoh. Prepare your camera as you witness Ipoh’s famous mural arts and stroll along Concubine Lane. Along Concubine Lane, you will find many antique and vintage stores as well as vibrant pop-up stores during the weekend and holidays. Before heading back to your hotel for the day, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
