Escape the bustling city of Luang Prabang as you take a short drive away from the city and into the stunning countryside of Laos. You will head to the elephant camp by your skilled and experienced guide where you will have your first memorable adventure. Feel the nature calling you as you approach the elephant camp that is situated in the heavily forested area within the mountain region that is along the banks of the Nam Khan river. Bask in the glory of nature whilst being atop of the docile elephants as they bring you around their abode within the dense forest. Immerse in the serenity of nature and behold the striking sights of untouched nature as you ride along the beaten trail.
Then, you will board a small boat to cross the Nam Khan river to the starting point of the trail. Trudge up along the beaten trail where you will immerse yourself in nature with stunning jungles that are completely unspoiled by men to the sight of the outlines of the tall mountains that are in a distance. Explore the Khmu hill tribe village that is situated at the foot of the mountain range and learn about the culture and customs of the Khmu villagers living the farmer and fishermen lifestyles. Catch the sight of the local villagers living harmoniously and working together to bring in resources as a way to sustain the village. Your guide will provide a helping hand in interacting with the Khmu people as they speak another language completely.
After a short break, your journey continues to the stunning Tae Sad waterfall that is located off the mountainside, where you will be able to indulge in the serene atmosphere. Behold the sight of the three-tiered waterfall that rises up to about 50 meters high where you will be able to see the water rushing down the limestone formations to the bottom pool. Swim across the crystal-clear pool where you will feel truly refreshed after an exhausting trek along the beaten trail. However, strong currents only occur during the peak of the rainy season where there will be a flow of water along the waterfall. Lunch will be provided where you will taste the delectable Lao cuisine that will make your taste buds explode, which may be served at the local Khmu village or at the Tad Sae waterfall.
During low season, the Tad Sae waterfall will be dry or lack in water and thus may not be in the itinerary. However, more time will be spent along the Khmu village where you will be able to meet and interact with the locals and you will spend more time reveling in the beauty of the Nam Khan river where you will be delighted with dense forests that live along the sides of the river.
