Don’t miss an exciting and fun adventure along the Sky Trail together with spectacular views of the island that can only be experienced on the Sky Bridge.
Our adventure kicks off with a short drive to the base of Machinchang Cambrian Geopark. Our first immersive experience is the dynamic Sky Rex which involves engaging your sensory and physical sensors. Take your seats on a tram styled simulator and you will be introduced to a 5-minute adrenaline inducing adventure that takes you on a journey including blasts of air, vibrations, dynamic motion, platform drops, dramatic lighting, 3D film projection and surround sound. This realistic experience will keep you at the edge of your seat! After an exciting start, we will proceed to the Sky Dome, equipped with 12 projectors to engage you in a 360-degree view of 3D high definition projections. Relax and let your imagination take over in this captivating dimension.
Our next stop is the much awaited Sky Cab, which consists of 3 stations; the base station, middle station and top station. We will start off at the base station located at the Oriental Village, in the upper north-west of Langkawi Island and near Pantai Kok. We will have to pass through the serene oriental garden and busy souvenir shops to make it to the cable-car pedestal. The journey from the base station to the middle station takes about 15 minutes and will end 650 metres above sea level.
The Langkawi Cable Car is the world’s steepest cable car and you may even feel as though you are going up vertically along the hill at times. This thrilling sensation will sweep over you as you pass over a lush carpet of virgin rainforest and cascading jungle waterfalls. The ride from the middle station to the top station is another 450 metres and will end 708 metres above sea level where you will be greeted by rows of stalls selling toys, snacks, beverages and souvenirs. Take a short walk up the stairs to 2 viewing platforms on Mount Machinchang, the second highest peak on the island. Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the neighbouring islands from the dominating rock tower peak. The picturesque view even extends to the island of Southern Thailand on a clear day.
From here, you will be able to access the Sky Bridge, a magnificent suspended steel bridge that is hanging 100 metres above ground on an 82-metre high single pylon and measures up to 125 metres in length and 1.8 metres in width. The stunning structure is among the world’s longest curve suspension bridges and can hold up to 250 people at a single time. Visitors on this bridge are provided with a unique spatial experience that offers extraordinary views which are otherwise unattainable from other locations. The views of the Andaman sea and neighbouring islands are contrasted into various unique perspectives along the curved bridge in comparison with a single monotonous sight obtained from a straight bridge.
Last but not least, get in touch with nature as we proceed to conquer the Sky Trail. The basic trail is the shortest and easiest of all, where we will start from the top station and trek downhill towards the middle station, a mere 900 metres that can be achieved in approximately 45 minutes. It is suitable for all ages with an average fitness level. This will be an easy walk for experienced trekkers while beginners enjoy this exhilarating mini adventure. Our experienced nature guide will lead you on your journey through the flora and fauna of the sandstone forest and even some interesting facts about the birthplace of Southeast Asia which came into existence more than 550 million years ago. Along the trek, immerse yourself in the abundance of flora and fauna; over 1,500 different types of plantations, many whom possesses medicinal values such as the Tongkat Ali, a native Malaysian tree with plenty of roots that is a great therapeutic herb. Experience nature first hand and feast your eyes on fascinating rock formations as you make your way to the middle station.
