Tour Description:

Get ready for a spectacular experience as we hop on a boat and take off towards the Kubang Badak River. Explore the mysterious mangrove forests and gaze upon the magnificent ancient limestone outcrops of the northeast, with lush limestone forests perched atop. Apart from the famous Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, the mangrove forest along Kubang Badak River is also gazetted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The unique ecosystem of the mangrove forest is truly a biological wonder and is delicately balanced. Admire the highly productive ecosystem as its specific characteristics such as special bark and leaf structures, help the mangroves accommodate regular dynamic changes in the environment in order for the ecosystem to survive the harsh conditions in their habitat.

The importance of the mangrove in the ecosystem includes reducing erosion from waves, currents and tides by stabilising the coastline. The complex mangrove root system provides shelter for fish and other organisms from their predators as well as for those who seek food.
