Tour Description:

Kuala Selangor one of the few places within the Selangor state that are still left pristine and untouched by developments. It is also known as a sleepy fishing town at the mouth of the Selangor River. This has resulted in an environment that is thriving with insects that comes to life when the sunsets. In the sky, you would be able to observe a spectacle created by fireflies illuminating the entire pitch-black night sky. While at the ocean, you would be able to experience bioluminescent plankton lighting up the ocean with a bright blue colour. Surely the two sights are not to be missed as it will memorable and captivating.

The tour starts off by assembling at Pasir Penambang, where you will be greeted by our experienced and friendly tour guides that will be there to greet you. Upon your arrival, there will be a short briefing about the outline of the tours and a safety briefing. You will then go on to choose a fitting personal floating device before heading to the specially catered boats. Depending on the line up of events for that day, you may do either activity first.

For the Fireflies Tour, you will travel out into an open section of the river where you will be able to see the night sky is lit up by these tiny active creatures going about their daily routines. The constant flickering dazzling lights will keep you mesmerized. Looking down on the river, you will also be able to see a clear reflection of the night sky that reflects the amazing twinkling night sky.

Next, you would be transported out into the open sea where you will get to experience the ocean coming to life. There, you will be able to see tiny bioluminescent plankton (“sea fireflies”) lighting up the ocean with a bright blue colour. Out at sea, you will be given an opportunity to take close-up pictures with the glowing blue waters.

Upon your return, you will be able to see a blue colour coastal line filled with these captivating tiny blue creatures which make your trip an unforgettable one.
