Day 4 – Labuan Bajo/ Komodo Island/ Pink Beach/ Rinca Kalong
Head towards Komodo Island on a 3-and-a-half-hour boat ride after having breakfast at the hotel. Komdo Island is famous for its population of the Komodo Dragon. This animal is the largest species of lizard in the world and can be dangerous when provoked. You’ll be trekking through the dry forests of the island with the help of a guide where you can enjoy the scenery of the lush jungles and also look out for young Komodo Dragons hanging from the trees.
After some time on Komodo Island you’ll set sail for Pink Beach. This beach is truly a sight to behold as its shores are actually a soft baby pink! This natural phenomenon is caused by a microscopic animal called Foraminifera that produces a red pigment on the coral reefs. Tiny fragments of the coral wash up on shore and mixes with the white sand making the cotton candy coloured sand that you’ll see today. The beach is also popular for swimming and snorkelling due to the many exotic marine lives.
Get ready to see some gigantic Manta Rays up close! You’ll sail towards Manta Point, popular amongst tourists for its high sightings of the gentle sea creatures. If the weather is good, you’ll get to snorkel in the water to really get close to the Manta Rays but you can still get a good view of them from the boat too. If you’re feeling peckish, don’t worry as your lunch will be served on board the boat before you’re brought back to Labuan Bajo. Then take a boat to Kalong Island to watch the colonies of Flying Foxes emerge from the jungle as the sun begins to set. As night descends you’ll be sleeping on the boat, in the sea.

In the morning you’ll set off to Kanawa and Bidadari Islands (also known as Angel Island) for some snorkelling or just a relaxing sunbathing on the soft sands of the beach.
