Begin your adventure with a trip to Batubulan Village, known for being an art village and is well known in domestically and internationally. The village’s popularity is largely due to the villagers creative unique Balinese dance performances that can be viewed in the village. People from all over the world come to Batubulan village to watch these special dances such as the Barong dance which is what you will get to see. The Barong dance tells the story of “good” and “bad” and is usually performed at five different stage in this village.
Immerse yourself in the culture of Bali at your next stop which is a traditional Balinese House compound. Observe and learn about how the people of Bali live their daily lives. Get a taste of more of Bali’s art trades as you visit three of its largest handicraft centres: Celuk, Mas and Ubud. Celuk is widely known for their gold and silversmithing while Mas is popular for are intricate woodcarvings, and Ubud is famous for their traditional and modern paintings. You’ll truly get to see Bali’s creative and artistic side when you visit these three locations before moving on to Kintamani.
Relax your muscles as you journey higher up into the mountains to view the beautiful terraced rice paddies at Kintamani. You’ll get an amazing view of the active Batur volcano where you can usually see it steaming and even see a dark black ribbon of lava flowing down from the crater into the valley below. If you’re feeling hungry after all the excitement of the day you can go to one of the many local restaurants in Kintamani for a delicious lunch before you move on to the next destination.
The last leg of this trip is a visit to Besakih (a.k.a The Mother Temple), the biggest temple in Bali. This hundreds of years old temple sits 1,000 metres high on the slopes of Mount Agung. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this temple, commonly used by the Balinese people as a site for a special pilgrimage. End your trip by going to Kertagosa, an 18th century hall of justice that has intricate ceiling paintings depicted the scenes of punishment and reward in the afterlife, the results of karma, before going back to your hotel.
