Go on an exciting cycling tour to taste the finest Khao Yai wine and grasp the breathtaking views of Thailand’s countryside!
Day 1 - Bangkok / Asoke Valley
We will pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok and drive north for around two hours until we reach Bonya Lit Temple. We will prepare and gear up for the cycling tour here. You will ride through some quiet country roads at first. The road is a mixture of dirt and asphalt plagued with potholes. It brings us through small dairies, tamarind orchards and even a sheep farm. It will be a relaxing and leisurely paced ride. After a while of riding, we will turn into a shaded gravel road that skirts a pond which then leads us to a dirt road. The dirt road brings us to ride through mango orchards and tall sugar cane fields until we reach a lake for a short break. After the rest stop by a lake, we will continue to ride towards Khao Yai Winery. The winery is located on a valley 300 metres above sea level and it is close to the Khao Yai National Park. Khao Yai Winery claims that it is the birthplace of Khao Yai Wine. The plantation is around 800 acres which include grape trees, factory, fermentation room and wine cellar. The winery has the capacity to mature 450,000 litres of wine or 600,000 bottles a year. A cellar door is available safe and any wine you buy will be packed for safe transfer back to your accommodation. We will have our lunch first at the Great Hornbill Restaurant in the winery complemented by a glass of wine. After our lunch, we will take a tour around the vineyard and taste some Thai wine. Next, we will leave the winery and cycle for another short distance to our resort. The pool at our resort offers a nice view and is a great way to relax your body after a whole day of cycling.
Day 2 - Asoke Valley / Bangkok
After having a hearty breakfast, we have a short transfer towards our starting point. There will be a bit of climbing on the bike today. We start our journey with a ride through quiet country roads passing tapioca fields and a rock quarry. Not long after, we will reach Wat Tam Tien. At Wat Tam Tien, you can climb the 145 stairs up to a cave. After a short look around the cave, we hop on to our bike and ride through sugar cane field and a Chinese medication centre that has three distinctive statues. A moment alters, we will reach the Prapatsorn Grape Farm and have a taste of local Thailand grapes and also the candies made from them. You will have a perfect view of the White Buddha on the hill. The White Buddha is 112 metres above ground level on the hilltop and is made of concrete entirely. You can challenge yourself for 1250 steps to the base of the statue that provides you with some rewarding views. Shortly after, lunch will be served. Upon riding through Asoke Valley for the past two days, we will head back to Bangkok.
