Tour Description:

Day 1 – Denpasar / Maumere & Ende / Moni

Disembark from your flight once it arrives at Maumere airport and be greeted by our representative before being brought to Moni. Moni is a small settlement that’s located at the foot of the volcano, Mount Kelimutu, in Flores. You’ll get to visit the Lisedetu Village to see the traditional houses of Lioness. Once you’ve finished your visit you’ll be brought to check-in to your hotel where you’ll enjoy a night’s stay.

Day 2 – Moni / Kelimutu Lakes / Ende / Bajawa

Get ready for an adventure as you travel to Mount Kelimutu to get an amazing view of the sunrise! You’ll also get to see the mountains three-coloured crater lakes that’s become a major tourist attraction. The volcano’s colourful lakes are due to different salts and oxides in suspension or solution giving it the vibrant hues ranging from blue to deep turquoise or even an intense red. This natural phenomenon is one you won’t want to miss!

Then continue your journey to Saga Village or Wologai Village to get a better idea of how the locals live their daily lives. This is a great opportunity for tourists to see how the locals really live and to better understand their culture. You’ll then be brought to Penggajawa Beach or Blue Stone Beach that is almost entirely made up of turquoise, blue and reddish stones! This beach has become a major source of income for the local villagers and it's not uncommon for you to see people picking the colourful pebbles which will later be sold to buyers or collectors who come from the city. The beach is normally uninhabited by tourists and there are also no food vendors so the few visitors that do come to the beach will get to enjoy a peaceful time listening to the sounds of the waves with no distractions. Once you're done at the beach you’ll get brought back to a new accommodation.

Day 3 – Bajawa / Bena / Todolela

Wake up early in the morning to drive to Wawomuda where you’ll be trekking to the volcano. The trek should take about 1 and a half hours so gather up your energy for this feat. The mini-Kelimutu features several small crater lakes all of which are colourful much like Kelimutu Volcano. You’ll also be able to see charred pine trees due to the eruption back in 2001 standing in isolated patches. After having your breakfast at Bajawa you’ll be moving on to your next destination, Bena & Todolela Villages.

These are traditional villages of the Bajawa tribes and Bena Village has become one of the most visited villages in the Ngada District. The village features amazing stone formations, ancestral shrines and of course, traditional houses. You’ll be able to learn so much about the Bajawa tribes culture from observing how they live their lives in these villages. Bena village is considered megalithic villages where people preserve their ancestral spirits and the conical thatched roof huts, called “Ngadhu” and “Bhaga,” symbolize their Male and Female ancestral spirits. You’ll be served lunch en route to these villages and you’ll also make a stop at an active volcano for some iconic pictures. At the end of the day, you’ll trek down to Todolela village where you’ll enjoy dinner and be staying the night in one of the houses of the villagers.

Day 4 – Todolela / Gursina / Malanage / Ende

Gather your energy with a hearty breakfast before trekking down to Gurusina Village. This is another Ngada village where it is rich with culture. The village also has a strong agriculture area as water buffaloes and other farm animals can be seen along the way as well as many vanillas, candlenut, cacao or coffee plantations. Continue your trek with a visit to Malanage hot springs. Rest your aching muscles with a relaxing dip into the warm waters of the hot springs before having lunch. After lunch you’ll drive to Ende, stopping at Nuabosi along the way. Nuabosi is a village that offers you a breathtaking view of Ende town and you’ll enjoy many photographs of the town with Gunung Meja and the Volcanoes in the background as well. You’ll then check-in at your accommodation for the night before saying goodnight.

Day 5 – Ende / Denpasar

After a nice breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be left to do as you please and explore the facilities of the hotel. When it’s time to catch your flight, you’ll be brought to the airport.
