Explore the amazing sights of Kanchanaburi and indulge yourself at its serene nature cycling through the countryside.
Day 1 - Bangkok / Kanchanaburi / Death Railway / River Kwai Noi
At Bangkok, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Kanchanaburi west of Bangkok. We will be visiting some historical sights in Kanchanaburi. One of it is the War Museum which exhibits what happened during the construction of the Death Railway. One section of the museum is to depict the construction of Death Railways which is meant to recreate the quarters used by Allied Prisoners of War. This section does not allow any tourist photos to be taken. Next, there is the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. The cemetery is the main Prisoners of War (POW) cemetery for the Death Railway construction during World War II. We will ride a train on the Death Railway which despite its background, offer a spectacular view of Thailand’s countryside. We then have our lunch and visit Krasae Cave. Krasae Cave is said to be a resting spot for POWs as it is located next to the Death Railway. We then begin our cycling journey through several teak plantations and small Thai villages to Prasat Mueang Sing. Prasat Mueang Sing is a historical park that protects some old Khmer-style structures that date back to 13th and 14th century. After a tour around the park, we ride to our riverside hotel and prepare ourselves for dinner.
Day 2 - Ban Kow / River Kwai Noi
After a delicious breakfast, we will start the day with cycling. On the second day, most of our time will be spent on biking as we cycle through great trails that offers a scenic view. We ride at a leisure place so that you can take your time and enjoy the scenery with lush green jungles and blue skies along the way. During the ride through these trails, you can witness the beauty of the valleys surrounding the area. We will also cycle past farmlands and jungles. One section of the ride might be slightly more challenging compared to the others as it is a gentle climb of 2 kilometres. Worry not as our support vehicle will be following the tour closely from behind, you can choose to ride in the vehicle if you want to. This ride does give us a great chance to see the rolling hills that separate Burma from Thailand. As we continue to cycle, we will arrive at our riverside hotel by evening where you can choose either to relax by the pool, enjoy a massage, or take a boat trip to visit a Mon village.
Day 3 - Kwai Noi / Hellfire Pass / Bangkok
On the last day, we will ride through more trails to view the amazing sceneries Thailand has to offer after our breakfast. The ride today is mostly downhill and has a few small uphills. The main downhill might be a little bit steep as we cycle through the primary jungle and along a small river that meanders down to Kwai Noi River. Upon completing this part of the ride, we will go across the river and visit Hellfire Pass. Hellfire Pass is a 1000 metre of mountain cut through rock and soil with most rudimentary implements by POW. We will also visit the museum before we go for our local lunch. After lunch, we will return to Bangkok and drop you off at your hotel.
