Find out more about Phong Nha-Ke Bang National park as you explore its beautiful Elephant Cave, lush Ma Da Valley and the mysterious wet cave of Tra Ang.
The Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park spans a 858 km2 core zone and a 1,954 km2 buffer zone. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its huge limestone territory and beautiful caves. It houses the Soon Doong Cave, the largest cave in the world and holds many other world cave records such as the longest river and the largest combined caverns and passageways. It is of no wonder that travellers and locals have come to love and respect the beautiful park. Through this tour, you will be able to discover one of the many wonders of the national park as you make your way up the jungle and explore its beauty.
First, we will make our way to HQ for a safety protocol briefing. Once you are clear on what to do, you will make your way toward Elephant Cave by van. This journey will take quite some time so sit back, relax and enjoy the smooth ride to your trekking starting point. On your way, enjoy the lush surroundings of the road as you transition from the city of Phong Nha toward the National Park. Upon your arrival at your trail-head, you will plunge straight into the jungle and begin your trekking journey. Journeying 20 minutes into the woods, you will then see the 60 metres high, 300 metres long Elephant Cave. Make your way into the cave and be awed by its astounding limestone rock formations. Once you are done, you will make your way toward Ma Da Valley and reach the Ma Da Lake.
Once you reach the crystalline Ma Da Lake, you will gear up and ready yourself for a good swim. Plunge into the cool refreshing water and swim your way across where your BBQ lunch will be waiting for you. With a full tummy and dry clothes, the hike continues. After some time crossing rivers and following the trail, you will arrive at the staging area for your swim into Tra Ang Cave. Here, you will again gear up, make your way into the water and inside Tra Ang Cave. Explore the internal rock formations of the cave as you make your way across the full length of the cave. Then, start trekking back into Ho Chi Minh road where our guides will be waiting with a cold beer and soda. Finally, rest your legs inside the car and make your way back to the HQ and your hotel.
