Take a trip out of Luang Prabang to a camp that is located away from the bustling atmosphere of the city and along the banks of the Nam Khan river within the dense jungle. Your journey begins with a car ride out of the city to the Nam Khan river where you will travel across the Nam Khan river to the starting point of your exciting trekking adventure. Traverse along the beaten trail through the rice paddies that extends across the land and under the middle canopy that provides some shade from the Sun. Along the way, you will make a stop to the Ban Houay Fai, which is a Khmu village. Discover the culture and customs of the Khmu people that make up the biggest minority ethnic group in the Laos population as they live out their lives as farmers and fishermen to sustain the village.
Stroll along the ridges of the mountain, passing through the limestone grottoes and rocky slopes where you will be provided with a hearty lunch that will surely replenish your energy after an exhausting trek. Travel within the Ban Tin Pha, that is a village filled with Hmong people who migrated from China and are mostly farms to sustain the inhabitants of the village. Interact with the friendly inhabitants that are more than welcome to educate you on their culture and customs. Explore the mountains and valleys that are around the Ban Tin Pha village, all of which are filled with an abundance of wildlife that thrives in the area. Learn about the flora and fauna that live in the area from your guide as you revel in the serene environment.
Your journey continues with trudging along the beaten path passing more rice paddies that flourish within the fertile lands and the scenic countryside landscapes that exudes serenity and tranquillity as the area is teeming with life. Come across the smiles of the villagers that reside within the village of Ban Houei Yan that is located near the riverside. Immerse in the simple lifestyle of the villagers where you will gain some insight into their way of life, culture, and religion. After an exhausting trek along the trail to visit the villages, you will head to the banks of the Nam Bank river, where you will board the boat to explore the stretch of the river, surrounded by an abundance of flora and fauna. Towards the end of the boat trip, you will approach the Tad Sae waterfall which exudes beauty and serenity. The Tad Sae Waterfall is a waterfall that towers above the pool with more streams than the Kuang Si waterfall to allow more water to flow nonchalantly from the peak to the bottom of the pool. Take a chance to ease your muscles by dipping in the cool waters of the pool. During low season, the Tad Sae waterfall may not be visited as the water flow may be too low.
