On this journey, we will cycle through the Vietnamese countryside from Hoi An to reach the magnificent coastal city of Nha Trang. Get ready to have the ride of your life on this 250-kilometre cycling escapade!
Day 1 – Hoi An / Tam Ky (58 km)
Let’s begin our journey as we pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An and head towards the trailhead on a one hour drive. Once we arrive, we will set off and cycle for around 5 kilometres on a pleasant road before turning into the countryside. As we pedal through the winding roads, we will pass by extensive paddy fields and abundant fruit orchards. While the heat might be unbearable during the day, the lush casuarina and pine forests in the rural area will provide shade and we can cycle comfortably. Along the way, we will stop for a short break and enjoy our picnic lunch.
After lunch, we will continue riding along the countryside and enjoy the charming scenery before arriving at Tam Ky City in the afternoon. We will check in to our hotel and you may spend the rest of the afternoon chilling at your own expense. You can visit its famous pristine beaches or simply wander around the city. As the night falls, we will gather to have our dinner at a local restaurant before retreating for the night.
Day 2 – Tam Ky / Sa Huynh (41 km)
Before we leave for our next destination, we will have our buffet breakfast and check out of the hotel. Once everyone gathers at the designated time, we will drive for around an hour towards the Chau O Town. From here, we will veer towards the coast and begin our cycling trip. We will ride on the country roads through the Sa Ky fishing village where we could observe the coastal settlements and livelihoods. As we cycle along this trail, we will arrive at My Lai, the site of a massacre during the Vietnam War. Around 504 unarmed civilians were massacred by the US Army and we will drop by the memorial commemorating them here.
After we have learned about the tragic history of My Lai, we will replenish our energy by having lunch at a local restaurant. We will then resume our cycling along the quaint country roads throughout the afternoon to reach Quang Ngai city. From here, we will board our van and ride for around an hour to reach the beautiful Sa Huynh beach. We will stay the night at the beach resort here and you can unwind at the gorgeous golden sand beach after having our dinner.
Day 3 – Sa Huynh / Quy Nhon (60 km)
Once we eat our breakfast, our van will pick us up from the hotel and transfer us to Phu My Town where we will start our ride. Today, we will cycle along one of the most scenic cycling routes on this trail. We will get to admire the rolling coastline from a distance as we pass through the vast rice fields and verdant mountains. As we cycle along the coastal area, we will also have a chance to observe how the locals go about their daily lives at the salt flats and fishing villages. Along the way, we will stop by a local restaurant to have our lunch.
Next, we will cycle towards Tuy Phuoc Town and board our van. In around 30 minutes, we will arrive at Quy Nhon City and check in to our hotel. You will have the free evening to enjoy the city on your own. One of the best ways to spend the night at Quy Nhon is to head down to the city beach along Xuan Dieu and An Duong Vuong streets. Here, you can stroll along its promenade and chill at the bar while basking in the cool ocean breezes.
Day 4 – Quy Nhon / Tuy Hoa (60 km)
After breakfast, we will drive for around 30 minutes out of the Quy Nhon city to start our trip. We are going to conquer the 60-kilometre-ride along the cassava and sugar cane plantations which is also the longest route on our cycling adventure. If you don’t want to cycle the whole leg, you can always hop on to our van which is always on standby to transfer us. Along the trail, we will experience cycling on the rolling hills surrounded by the forests. As we are on the road for today, we will enjoy a picnic lunch when we stop for our break.
We will then continue cycling towards Chi Thanh (Tuy An) Town and board our van to head towards Ghenh Da Dia. Located along the coast, Ghenh Da Dia is a seashore area boasting a cluster of interlocking basalt rock columns. Don’t forget to take pictures and save this breathtaking scenery in your memory! Once we are done admiring the spectacular nature, we will drive to Tuy Hoa City and check in to our hotel. After having our dinner, you can relax and rest for the night.
Day 5 – Tuy Hoa / Nha Trang (40 km)
Our final day of this cycling adventure will start after we have our breakfast at the hotel. We will start cycling from the hotel towards the Vung Ro Bay up to the summit of Ca Pass. As we cycle up and down the rolling hills, we will get to take in the picturesque view of the surrounding jungle and bay from both sides of the road. After climbing the brutal 15 kilometres up the hill, we will take a break at Vung Ro Bay where you will have the opportunity to snap some magnificent pictures of the turquoise water fringed by the forested peaks.
Once we have recharged our energy, we will resume our cycling trip and push for the final 3-kilometre-ride up to the Ca Pass. As we arrive at the summit of Ca Pass, we will be welcomed with the stunning mountain ranges and scenic coastlines along the cliff edge. We will finish our ride here and board our van for the transfer to Nha Trang. Along the way, we will stop by a local restaurant to indulge in a scrumptious lunch. We will drop you off at your hotel in Nha Trang and concludes our epic 5-day cycling adventure.
