Wake up in the early morning and dive into the fresh morning routine of local residents in the beautiful city of Hoi An.
With a population of approximately 120,000 people, the city of Hoi An (formerly also known as Fai-Fo) also prides itself on being one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Stepping into the city, you will immediately know why. Rows of traditional architecture can be seen adorning the cityscape and the residents can be seen going about their daily lives doing what has been done since the days of yore. Get a closer and more familiar look into this historically and culturally rich city by visiting its wet market and ancient town on a 3.5 hours’ adventure around the picturesque spots of Hoi An.
The trip starts early in the morning at 5;00 A.M. You will first head to Hoi An Fish Market, a local wet market offering you the freshest deal of the day. During the early morning, you will get to see how local sellers set up store and prepare their items. Fish is bought fresh from the gulf and sold fresh for you. Along the way, you will also see local sellers setting up their stores and getting ready to bargain through with the customers. Snap away at the beautiful and friendly sight as you try to bargain your way out of an expensive deal and land yourself some fish for dinner. After a quick visit to the market, you will then make your way to Hoi An Ancient Town.
In the Ancient Town, you will be greeted by the crystalline Hoai River reflecting the gentle sun. As local people row away at their boats, the entire scene of the morning offers you an unforgettable memory of the early day in Hoi An. Interestingly, Hoi An Ancient Town used to be a trading port from the 15th to the 19th century, as shown by the archaic and almost nostalgic design of the building and the name of the streets. Recently, the architecture has also become increasingly influenced by modern design. The combination of both traditional and modern architecture makes for a beautiful and wondrous view in itself and you will find yourself in awe with the townscape. After going around the vicinity, you will stop for a bowl of Cao Lau and a delicious cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee before concluding your morning tour.
