Embark on an ultimate food adventure around Hoi An and sample all the local signature dishes by cycling through the city’s quaint alleyways.
As the best way to learn about the local culture is through food, a culinary adventure should always be on your list especially when visiting food lover’s haven such as Hoi An. Besides its well-preserved historical charms, Hoi An offers a long list of mouth-watering dishes for all foodies out there. Once the sun begins to set, you should prepare to eat your way around the city on this cycling food adventure.
Make sure you gather on time at the designated meeting point for a quick safety briefing and bike fitting. Once you are set up, we will start our culinary journey. As this tour is specifically-designed by the local guide, you can expect a selection of the best local food ready for your tasting. We will visit the famous Banh Mi Queen to taste the French-inspired sandwich that has become Vietnamese signature dish, Banh Mi. Next up, we will taste a home-cooked Cao Lau – the pork noodle dish unique to Hoi An. While you are being served on the terrace of a private home, you could select the herbs for your own noodle and listen to the legendary tale behind this dish. We will then head towards a local restaurant to savour the sizzling rice pancake, Banh Xeo. You could try to enjoy this dish like a local by cutting it into slices, rolling it up in rice paper and dipping it into the special sauce.
As the night falls, we will cycle through the maze of historic alleyways and join the locals to dine by the river. You can indulge in the authentic Vietnamese-style barbecue with freshly grilled meat, seafood and vegetable while enjoying the mesmerizing view and vibrant nightlife along the river. As lantern has become the iconic trademark of Hoi An, you can spot the colourful sparkling lanterns decorating the street and perhaps you may also want to release some paper lanterns by the river. Besides the Vietnamese cuisine, we will also try some fusion delicacies in Hoi An. As a major international trading port back in its heyday, Hoi An has become a melting pot for various culture and cuisine. We will taste some high-quality French-influenced cheese products paired with the locally-made rice wine. If you are really not a wine person, you can grab the Vietnamese award-winning craft beer instead.
Other than the major food stops, we will also visit some food stalls to sample local snacks and quick bites. Our ultimate culinary adventure will conclude at a coffee shop where everyone could get a sugar fix and unwind with our fellow foodies.
