Tour Description:

For farmers, buffalo serve more than simple meat. The strength and tenacity of a buffalo can plough the field, pull the cart and help farmers get around different parts of their vast farmland. Being an integral part of the whole farming process, you will find just how much farmers actually rely on buffaloes to go about completing their daily chores and tasks around the field. At the same time, you will be able to meet some friendly local farmers and discover more about the very different livelihood they have as compared to the city folks. So get yourself ready for this exciting opportunity in learning more about the many different sides of the Vietnam countryside and farming life.

Your minivan will be waiting for you as you make your way to the lobby. The mid-afternoon provides much less glaring sunlight compared to the heat of the high noon so you will get to relax as you make your way to the farmland. Along the way do not forget to also take a look around at the scenic surrounding as you leave the city concrete behind and the landscape slowly changes to lush green fields. SO sit back and relax as the ride takes you to the farm you will be visiting at Cam Thanh village. Once you arrive, get the chance to go around and tour the farmland on a buffalo pulled cart. Though slower than a horse, you will feel surprised at just how powerful a buffalo actually is. As a further bonus, you get to strike a conversation with your local host farmer family about what they have been up to recently or simply how long they have been doing the job. Also, enjoy some good cold beer and soft drinks on board the pull cart as you drink the evening heat away. Occasionally, stop and feed your buffalo as a token of gratitude for toiling throughout the day.

Then, learn more about water buffalo from your local farmer and the story of rice. There is much to know about Asia’s favourite grain and how it has defined the culinary culture of Asia over time. Join your farmer family for some food before going back to the hotel and ending the tour for the day.

• Cancellations made more than four days from commencement date will be given full refund
• Cancellations made less than four days before commencement date will incur a 50% cancellation fee
• There will be no refunds given for cancellations made one day before or less from commencement date

• Pick-up and drop-off are both only in Hoi An. If guests stay at hotels like Four Seasons - The Nam Hai Resort or Le Belhamy Resort, there is a 600,000 VND chargeable for the round trip transfer. If you are staying in Da Nang, please arrange your own transfer to the meeting point at Nam Long Restaurant - 103 Cua Dai Street or at the front of Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort
