The city of Da Nang boasts itself in its cultural and religious inheritance while the city of Hoi An prides itself in the many traditional and historical architecture found around the cityscape. Wherever you choose to go in Vietnam, each place has its own charm and memory you can come to enjoy and appreciate. Da Nang is home to the Marble Mountain, a towering stone mountain which is also home to one of three Linh Ung Pagoda. Hoi An retains much of its traditional and nostalgic feel within its cityscape architecture that will bring you around the heritage landscape around the area. If you are out to explore and learn more about the history and culture of Vietnam, while having fun, you need not look any further.
Your first destination is the Marble Mountain. This stone mountain is a popular sightseeing location in Da Nang, owing much of its charm to its stone-based surface terrain and cave networks. From atop, you will also get a view of the beautiful horizon and the stunning scenery. Once you are done admiring the scenic view of the area, you will then head over to Am Phu Cave where you will find a replica of heaven and hell and eerie underground tunnels which will mesmerize you with its complex wall and stone interior.
Next, you will head to Linh Ung Pagoda. Built under the reign of King Minh Mang during the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century, legend has it that a Buddha statue drifted downstream to the area and got anchored by the riverside before being found by local folks. The locals then built a shrine with the statue as a centrepiece to worship the heavenly message and that shrine has since thrived into Linh Ung Pagoda today. It is also the perfect spot to hunt for beautiful photos for your memory so do keep your camera ready for the road. Afterwards, you will have your lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will continue with a stroll around the city of Hoi An. This historic town, a former prosperous seaport city from the 16th to 18th century, has today become a rustic and beautiful ancient city that still retains the charm and architecture of olden days. Along the way, you will make a few stops to Hoi An Museum, the many renowned Ancient Houses, the Assembly Halls of Chinese Influence, an art and craft manufacturing workshop and the famous Japanese Covered Bridge. Finally, conclude your tour with a photo-taking session to take home and enjoy for the rest of your trip.
