In the hustle and bustle city environment of Ho Chi Minh City, discover the amazing sights and sounds it has to offer on a one-day tour.
Start the tour off at your convenience as our tour guides will specially cater to timing that you are comfortable within the morning. Firstly, you will head to the Reunification Palace which is known formerly as the White House where the President of the Republic of Vietnam resided in during the Vietnam war. It has now become a museum and tourists are invited to view the grand hallways and various rooms that are no longer in use. You will have a tour guide who will explain the history of the events that took place and how the residence was left vacant towards the end of the Vietnam war.
Next, you will travel to the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral that is at the crossroads of the city in district 1. Take beautiful photos of this elegant church that was built in the late 1880s by the French colonists. Up till today, it is still well preserved and much of its architecture is still intact. Proceed to the nearby Central Post Office that is a short walk away. Upon entering the building, you will see a large image of “Uncle Ho” hanging on the far end of the building. There are also several stalls that sell postcards and little saviours which you can purchase at your own expense. You can consider sending postcards back to your loved ones to tell them about your amazing experience in Ho Chi Minh.
At noon, proceed for a sumptuous specially prepared local lunch that is full of traditional local Vietnamese food. After lunch, decide to walk the streets of Cholon or also known as Chinatown (At district 5). You will get a first-hand experience of the Chinese culture that has evolved over the years in Vietnam. There are some stalls to do some bargain shopping and many traditional ethnic community influences can be seen. Take some beautiful pictures of the vivid colours that are presented by the temples and landmarks.
Finally, head to the War Remnants Museum. Inside the museum, a guide will tell you about the dark history of the Vietnam war from the perspectives of the Northern Vietnamese people. They highlight some of the atrocities that were carried out during the war and the aftermath of the war. Outside of the building, there is some military hardware such as military planes and tanks that were used during the war. Take some memorable pictures here with your friends or family.
