The countryside offers a range of different and unique views which cannot be found in the popular cities or coasts. Heading from Ho Chi Minh on a two hours’ ride to the local rural area, you will get to learn more about the daily life of local countrymen and their livelihood along the way. Your stay with your local host will allow allow you the chance to mingle and share your home with them. You may just find yourself a new friend and open yourself to a whole different experience which you never expect.
Day 1 - Cai Be Floating Market (Lunch & Dinner)
You will start with a 2 hours’ comfortable ride from Ho Chi Minh City to the countryside. Peaceful and rustic, the countryside is filled with fresh air and charming scenery all waiting to be explored. You will travel by boat along the river and get a closer look at the life of the working locals and visit Cai Be Floating Market along the way. You may also have the chance to local fishermen rounding up their nets, hauling in their catch and concluding their fishing trip for the day. After a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant, you will spend the afternoon learning more about traditional fishing techniques used by the locals and pick up on some local fishing techniques you have never heard of. Finally you will head to your host home, join them in their cooking session and stay for dinner.
Day 2 - Local market / pot plants (Breakfast & Lunch)
After breakfast, take a bike ride to the local market and enjoy the crowd of people going about their lives. From there, you will continue toward Cai Mon Orchard Garden, dubbed the “kingdom of fruits” due to its abundant fruit produces. Then, ride your way back to your host’s home, take a rest, and check out. Your trip continues to Cai Mon Church - one of the oldest churches in the Mekong Delta. It was said to have been named Cai Mon from the English word caiman because there were lots of crocodiles around the church back in the old days. The church was built in the 1800s by a French priest and is today famous for its unique architecture works. From there, you will head toward a nearby village where you will get to see various potted plants and sapling gardens, a region known as the “kingdom of pot plants” in Ben Tre. Finally, have your well deserved lunch at a nearby restaurant before finally returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
