Get to know more about ancient Vietnam through the eyes of Hue City, a city rich in historical and cultural beauty amidst modern Vietnam.
If Hanoi and Saigon both reflect the modern day Vietnam, Hue will be the epitome of old day Vietnam preserved through the ages. The beautiful city is home to many of Vietnam’s historical and cultural heritage, some of which date back to the imperial period. Not surprisingly, the city is also in close proximity to Thuy Bien village, a small community of Chinese descendant Vietnamese who still retain their ancestral lifestyle hitherto. In this tour, you will get the best of Hue with all that it can offer. So strap up and ready yourself for an exploration of the nook and cranny of Hue in its wondrous variety.
You will meet your guide at your hotel at 8:00 am, so do ready yourself early. Once you are ready, hop onto the car and go around the city of Hue in a historical run of the cityscape. First is the citadel - an introduction into the Catholic heritage of Vietnamese history. The journey then continues with a historical chronicle of Vietnam, including the imperial period, the Mandarin culture and the former feudal system. With that clear, you will then visit an artist whose craft in bamboo and paper production has been the pride of Vietnam. You will stop right in front of his workshop to learn more about his technique before continuing your tour to Thien Mu pagoda, one of Vietnam’s most iconic building. Then, you will cross the Perfume River on a local boat to reach Thuy Bieu village for lunch. The village itself is a local maze of narrow alleys that lead to many beautiful houses and gardens. Even better, the people of Thuy Bieu village are actually the descendants of mainland China. Then, enjoy a stroll around different places where you will get to meet the villagers and partake in their delicious all-natural fruits. Then, as you make your way back to the city centre, you will visit emperor Tu Duc’s tomb and climb your way up the hill for a breathtaking view over the Perfume River before returning to your hotel.
